No error is ever raised when tracking fails. That is the whole problem. How it works
/01

It compares three numbers

Any one of them on its own looks fine. The gap between them is the entire product.

1

Real orders

Taken from Shopify's order webhook. Ground truth — it does not depend on a browser, an ad blocker, or a consent banner.

2

What the browser reported

Collected by our own web pixel at checkout. When this falls short of the first, conversions are being lost before they ever reach an ad platform.

3

What the platforms recorded

Read from Meta, for an account you link yourself — Google Ads is coming soon. Read-only — we never touch a campaign, a bid or a budget.

Alerts that stay quiet

A problem is emailed once, not every morning. Tracking going dark is sent immediately; smaller drifts arrive in one Monday summary.

One order, two calendars

Your store
A server in UTC

The same sale, on opposite sides of midnight. Every figure uses your store's day.

Your days, not ours

Every figure is bucketed by your store's timezone. Midnight in Berlin is not midnight in Los Angeles, and totals that ignore this are wrong by up to a day.

The Conversion Monitor dashboard showing 25.0% of orders not reaching tracking: 12 orders, 9 tracked events, 3 missing, and the period the figure covers.
A real store, measured over eight days. The date the pixel was registered is printed under every figure, because days before it were never watched and counting them would invent a loss.

Stores where a few percent is real money

Shopify merchants spending roughly $3,000 a month and up on paid ads, where a few percent of missing conversions is a figure worth knowing.

It is most useful to stores that are not on Shopify Plus, because they had fewer safe ways to install tracking and more chances for it to break quietly.

The least we can store

Order totals, timestamps and order numbers — the minimum needed to compare counts. No customer names, no email addresses, no addresses, no payment details.

Uninstalling keeps your history in place so a reinstall does not start from nothing. Deletion on request is handled through Shopify's own data channels.

Shopify conversion tracking not working

It usually still “works” — it just misses some orders, silently, and nothing anywhere raises an error. This app measures how many, by comparing Shopify's own order record against what your browser tracking reported.

Facebook pixel not tracking all purchases

Ad blockers, consent banners that block before consent, closed tabs and checkout apps all stop the browser event without stopping the sale. We cannot make the pixel fire — we tell you what share of orders it is missing and what that is costing.

Google Ads conversions lower than Shopify orders

Some of that gap is real loss and some is attribution — platforms credit a sale to the day of the click, not the purchase. Linking your platform account lets us separate the two rather than reporting the difference as one number: Meta today, Google Ads coming soon.

Conversions dropped after a theme update

The most common cause of a sudden drop, and the easiest to miss: orders carry on as normal, so nothing looks wrong until a month of ad spend has been optimised on half the data.

Additional Scripts stopped working

Non-Plus stores lost Additional Scripts on 26 August 2026. Migrations to web pixels and checkout extensions frequently dropped a tag on the way, and the store carried on selling as if nothing had changed.

Will this fix my tracking?

No. It finds the gap, sizes it in dollars and tells you the day it starts. Fixing the cause is a job for you or your developer — but you cannot fix what nothing is measuring.
